Difficult Sabbath

Us with the KLS Buidling in the background (we serve on the 5th floor)

September 28th was a difficult day emotionally.  When we woke up we learned of the passing of Russell M Nelson the President of our Church.  He was & will always be remembered as a great man, doctor & leader.  He did so much for so many areas -- a noted Cardiothoracic surgeon as well as a much beloved leader.  It has been faith promoting to see the tributes offered by so many to this great servant of the Lord.

This was shared with us -- I bet this was how it was.

Funny incident — we have been assigned to attend Sunday services at a Rehabilitation & Long Term Care Living Facility. When they announced at the beginning of the meeting that President Nelson had passed, one of the resident asked loudly ‘Do they know what he died from?’  Well he was 101, so old age?

Then we found out about the incident at a Chapel for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Michigan.  What a crazy world!! That Chapel was in one of the areas that Elder Clemons had served in while on his mission back in 1979-1980. It’s possible he could have taught some of those in attendance.

Our thoughts & prayers are with the Nelson family                   and the members & those affected in Michigan.

On a brighter note, we were able to spend some time with Kyle, Gaby & the younger Clemons over the weekend.  Friday night PaPa, Kyle, Carter & his friend were able to attend the Herriman High School football game and see them beat Lehi 22-21. MiMi hung out with Gaby and the 3 youngest girls and had fun with them. FroYo is always a hit!!

After church Sunday we went back to South Jordan and spent more time with Kyle & kiddos.  It is always fun to be around them and enjoy their energy & companionship.

We hope you are all doing well. Please keep in touch and let us know ‘Wassup’. Love to you all.

Thoughts from President Russell M Nelson:

"You are never too old to learn, never too old the change."

"Think celestial."

" There is GREAT PROTECTION when you know WHO you are, WHY you are here, and WHERE you are going."

"Contention is a choice. Peace making is a choice. You have your agency to choose contention or reconciliation. I urge you to choose to be a peacemaker, now and always."

"Our youth and children are among the best the Lord has ever sent.  They have the capacity to be smarter and wiser and have more impact on the world than any previous generation."
